Masters Seminar in Chicago | Internet Marketing Women
On my birthday, July 18th, I have the wonderful pleasure of being back in the place I consider my hometown, Chicago, and sharing the stage with some amazing internet marketers at The Masters Seminar
So you may be wondering:
1) why I consider Chicago my home town, even though I was born and raised in Somerdale, New Jersey
2) why the Masters seminar is the place to be to see internet marketing women; and
3) How I plan on celebrating my birthday in the windy city.
So first, why is Chicago my hometown?
Well, even though I was born and raised in NewJersey, I don’t really remember much of it. I spent my high school and college times in New Jersey where I was quite the bookworm. Let’s just say, I didn’t get out much. I was also pretty dirt poor… but that’s a story for another day.
In 1993 when I was 21 I moved to Chicago to attend law school. I really became an adult there. I grew up, learned a LOT about myself and the world, and became the Donna I pretty much am today. Chicago is my hometown because it’s really where I learned to be ME.
Now, why is the Masters seminar the place to be to see internet marketing women? At the moment, 89 people are registered to see me and THREE other women speak on internet marketing topics. Also speaking will be:
Quantum Leap trainer Tracy Repchuk. I’ve known her for years but never seen her speak so I’m eager to catch her presentation.
Gina Gaudio-Graves on targeting the right audience
Robin Collins on hybrid marketing (you don’t want to miss her, she’s spectacular!)
and of course me, on marketing to women.
If you’d like to see these powerhouse women along with some of the wonderful marketing MALE masters:
Bob The Teacher (former student now a trainer in his own right, Bob rocks my socks!)
Alan Bechtold (he’s been around so long he practically created the internet, he’ll share his secrets for longevity online)
Kevin Nations will share with you how to profit from selling Big Ticket items
Simon Leung is the AdWords god. If you’re going to anyone else for adwords training, you’re wasting your time!
Erik Stafford will build your wesite presence
…damn, there are a lot of speakers…
Scott Patton will help you master Podcasting, and Joel Comm on Adsense
Anik Singal on Affiliate Marketing and Frank Sousa on Video
Nathan Anderson on SEO and Willie Crawford on JVs
Ken McArthur on Impact and Richard Butler on Mindset.
This just in… ANOTHER speaker added… sweetie Eric Farewell.
I’m not sure how Ross is managing to pack it all in in three days, but I assure you, there WILL be time to party…
… Because after all, we’ll be celebrating my birthday!
So. how do I plan on celebrating.
First, I’m going to give my all by presenting my Marketing to Women program. I’m passionate about this topic, and my passion will shine throught. If you’re passionate about increasing your business profits you’ll join my program and we’ll work together. Which would really make my day…
Second, I’m having dinner at my favorite restaurant in the universe. Yep, it’s that good… Arya Bhavan
I’ve been visiting "Mama India" since she opened in … was it 1998? It’s the freshest, lightest, yummyest indan food I’ve ever tasted.
After that I’m just not sure. I have a friend who owns a jazz club waaaay on the south side of town. I always like Kingston Mines for blues. There’s hot dancing at Cherry Red or Enclave. I’ve been gone two years, so I’m not sure what’s hot now…
So. I ask What are the hot and trendy chicago clubs?
Calling All Female Internet Marketers
It happened again. I received yet another link to yet another sales page with yet another lineup of all male marketers.
This wasn’t the bad part. When I said something about it on a public form (yes, I can be vocal) I received back a response (not from the website owner) that there just aren’t any female speakers on internet marketing topics.
What? Are you living under a rock? I did a quick brainstorm and came up with 26 well known women who teach marketing topics, all of whom I know personally. This list is the result of a total of three minutes of brainpower.
In no particular order:
Me- Donna Fox- Marketing to Women

Jennie Armato - physical products
Lorrie Morgan Ferraro - copywriting
Jody Colvard - podcasting/blogging
Alexandria Brown - ezines
Christina Hills - shopping carts
Debra Thompson - events
Rosalind Gardner - affiliate marketing
Sydney Johnson- ebay
Tracy Repchuck- niche marketing
Heidi Nabert - podcasting
Stephanie Mulac - blogging
Kim Castle - branding

Alice Seba - internet marketing sweetie
Rhey Perry - internet entrepreneurism
Letitia Wright - PR and media
Jen Hanby - copywriying
Liz Tomey - not sure if she speaks but she’s so cool she has to be up here!
I thought of a bunch of other women too, like the wonderful Leah Carson, Lisa Preston and Michelle MacPhearson that I wasn’t sure spoke from the stage.
And even more amazing speakers like Alexandra Watson, Dani Johnson and Cindy Cashman that won’t speak on internet topics, but have great value to add to any event.
Then there are the thousand of niche bloggers out there, the majority of which are female! There is an entire world of people who are internet marketers that are being ignored. Thankfully there are great events like BlogHer that give us an outlet.
But basically, you get the idea. We’re out there, and there’s no excuse to ignore us!
If you are a female marketing speaker, or know one, leave a comment with their name, website and specialty. That way the nextime I get a bullshit response like that, I’ll just send them here.
