We’re just winding down here at The Smart Seminar

Malaysians are the warmest friendliest audience I’ve ever spoken before.  The people here greet you with enormous smiles and enthusiastic participation.  My program Why She Buys was well recieved…

…but the batle of the sexes is still very much alive here.

Unlike seminars I’m seeing in the US, where the audience makeup is nearing 40% women, at this event only 10% of the audience was female.

I’ve already had an early success story from the event.  One of the attendees, Audrey Chooi listened to my presentation on Saturday, and had the opportunity to apply the knowledge almost immediately.

She was talking to a prospective client last night who sells beauty and slimming packages.  She impressed her prospect with the details of how women influence buying decisions.  She shared the statistics that I did with the audience that women influence 94% of buying decisions, and used that as the basis to discuss her marketing proposal.

I’m sure Audrey will retain her new client soon, as she was impressed with the up to date information she had on the impact of women in the market.

I just love it when students apply their learnings so soon to their benefit!

Tomorrow I have a day of tourism in Malaysia, then on Tuesday the entire SMART seminar speaker lineup piles into a luxury bus to drive to Singapore, to do it all over again next weekend.

Donna Fox Internet Marketing SpeakerIt happened again.  I received yet another link to yet another sales page with yet another lineup of all male marketers.

This wasn’t the bad part.  When I said something about it on a public form (yes, I can be vocal) I received back a response (not from the website owner) that there just aren’t any female speakers on internet marketing topics.

What?  Are you living under a rock?  I did a quick brainstorm and came up with 26 well known women who teach marketing topics, all of whom I know personally.  This list is the result of a total of three minutes of brainpower.

In no particular order:

Liz Tomey - not sure if she speaks but she’s so cool she has to be up here!

I thought of a bunch of other women too, like the wonderful Leah Carson, Lisa Preston and Michelle MacPhearson that I wasn’t sure spoke from the stage.

And even more amazing speakers like Alexandra Watson, Dani Johnson and Cindy Cashman that won’t speak on internet topics, but have great value to add to any event.

Then there are the thousand of niche bloggers out there, the majority of which are female!  There is an entire world of people who are internet marketers that are being ignored.  Thankfully there are great events like BlogHer that give us an outlet.

But basically, you get the idea.  We’re out there, and there’s no excuse to ignore us!

If you are a female marketing speaker, or know one, leave a comment with their name, website and specialty.  That way the nextime I get a bullshit response like that, I’ll just send them here.
