In December I was hanging out with Sterling Valentine at a customer appreciation event he was having near my hometown of Somerdale, New Jersey. I happened to be in the neighborhood, visiting my family for the holidays.
When he introduced me to the audience as an expert in marketing to women, Sterling declared that 2008 was going to be the year of the woman. Truer words were never spoken.
Not only did women win all of the door prizes at Sterling’s event (a freak coincidence)… but my inbox is getting flooded with marketer after marketer advertizing that this is the year you need to learn how to effectively market to women.
I received two such notices today.
One from my friend, Lorrie Morgan-Ferrero of Red Hot Copy. It’s like she’s quoting me when she writes, "Women aren’t a niche market anymore, they ARE the market". She’s having a teleseminar on insider secrets to writing copy that sells to women.
Since I’m doing a teleseminar series myself on the very same topic, I hope the call isn’t on Tuesday, because I want to be listening to what she has to say!
The other email that landed in my inbox today was from Clayton Makepeace. He has a general marketing blog, with a number of contributing authors. This time, it’s a marketer by the name of Troy White talking about the $4 trillion dollar market you can’t ignore. This is the first time I’ve seen a man speaking out on the subject. We are definitely seeing a change here.
My business partner, Paulie Sabol, seems to think that people want information on marketing to women, but don’t want to pay for it. We shall see. What do you think? Would you pay to learn how to more effectively captivate the audience that influences 94% of buying decisions?
Be inspired,
Donna
